Almost. I think that first though you should focus on what Alan put in the contract. Take the 'creature from the black lagoon' and 'the fly' and turn them into simple shapes. Once you've done that you'll be able to see what kind of shapes our creatures should have. Also, feel free to do more iconic monsters from B-Movies if it'll help.
